It is SO not spring here, but man, I wish it was. I hate snow and coldness. Anyway, I just wanted to draw my boys sitting on some grass. Damon is not big fan of sitting on the ground (his clothes could get dirty), but Andy insisted. He like spring a lot.
I like how this turned out. Im getting better at sitting poses. Now if only I could draw people sitting on chairs XD I have no idea what is up with the dots there, I think they were supposed to be implied trees or something I was too lazy to actually draw. I think it looks good tho. Also, return of the pastel background. The "sky" is mix of blue, green and white pastel XD
Andy seems to gain weight almost every time I draw him XD He isnt too happy about it, but Im glad I can draw chubby people better now. I really like his shirts here too.
It's a rather infantile drawing technique, but it's a sign of something. I'm not entirely sure if this was the kind of style you were going for, but it does seem rather childish. I don't necessarily say that as an insult, only as my interpretation of the technique itself. This could be improved on however.
I will mention that the coloring is quite good. The shading on the clothing is rather good, it looks a bit like watercolor or marker. All around, while I feel like this isn't the best piece I've seen on dA, there is tons of room for improvement.
I think the dots in the sky look pretty. The color choices in this are nice. Andy's pants should have *quite* that much contrast, especially since the rest of the coloring has only moderate shading. All you really have to do is lighten the top of his pants (that are closest to the sky) and darken the rest. Damon's shoe could have a bigger toe section (how do you describe the parts of a shoe???) so it's not a triangle. Just keep working on coloring and lineart; you'll definitely see improvement.
This is very cute <3 I really like the poses and how your characters look so different both facially and body types. The image being split into three (grass, sky, trees) works really well though I would suggest trying to avoid halves (the grass coming to wroughly half way up the image); personally I don't mind it myself but I always hear people saying to avoid halves in a composition and to go with thirds insted. The only other thing I can think of to suggest is to perhaps use white pen to pick out some details on the hair (Damon's especially because of the lighter colour)
Thank you! I am glad you like that, I personally love variety within characters, so of course my boys gotta look different too. Thanks for the tip, I've never thought of that. Oh yeah, sometimes I do highlights, here I forgot XD
